«nxs fuimxs is a choreographic spell, a trajectory, a journey through thresholds of alienation and resistance.»

in slang nos fuimos is an expression which announces that the departure has already started or that we have gone beyond. here, it is the result of a radical fictionalisation of bodies. imagine: one and the same channel connects all the vital functions related to the lower abdomen and the cloaca, the sexual organ from which the erotic force is drawn. provided with these body-fictions, the dances are embodied experiments around the sexual organs, the idea of erotic togetherness, the cohabitation of complex emotions, self-pleasure and figures such as warriors and gargoyles. the performance is becoming a purge, a cleansing and a space of mutual support.

nxs fuimxs opens a liminal space-time where connection and contamination triumphs through vibrations, wind and emotions.

nxs fuimxs is based on the importance of teamwork and mutual aid. it questions and disrupts structural patterns linked to the accessibility and visibility of the singular author.

*allergy note: in this performance pollen particles of a reed plant are used.

** we have voluntarily removed all capital letters from this text, following afro-feminist literary currents (bell hooks, tatiana nascimento), in order to continue writing a non-hierarchical and non-obedient language.

nxs fuimxs was supposed to premiere in Arsénic Lausanne in spring 2020 and was postponed several times. The performance therefore exists in different versions, with various casts. At BONE_21 you can experience it on Sunday, 28.11. 19:30-20:30h.

Tamara Alegre (she/they)
works with dance and choreography. Born in Gran Canaria, she studied European Business and Psychology and worked as an underground music curator, dj and tour manager until 2016. Their research revolves around sensual embodiments, fictions on sexuality/sexual organs and liminal  physical states as choreographic tools. Structurally, she/they aims for change in the European field of  dance, which is still very white/male in Europe today – a cause that is only possible in close alliance and  thanks to the contributions of her collaborators and friends.

In 2018, they obtained an MA in choreography at DOCH, Stockholm and premiered FIEBRE, co-signed with  Lydia Östberg Diakité, Marie Ursin, Nunu Flashdem and Célia Lutangu since 2019. The work has been  presented in several venues in Europe and won the Young Choreographer’s Award at Impulstanz festival  this summer.

Tamara’s dance practice is influenced by a growing passion for Dancehall, attempting to understand how to  position herself as a white person having access to black culture. Lately, they have collaborated with  Soraya Lutangu Bonaventure and the Kingdom Choir from Kampala as mouvement researcher and as  choreographic assistance for Sabrina Röthlisberger on her performance Le Sang. She has danced for La  Ribot and Mårten Spångberg and, more recently, for Nikima Jagudajev, Carlos María Romero and PRICE.  They are a resident artist at the Arsenic, Lausanne, for the next three years where she is creating together  with Elie Autin, Margarida Alfeirão, Lydia Östberg Diakité et al. NOS FUIMOS, which will premier in April  2022. The combination of working as a dancer, making work and being involved in collaborative practices is  essential for them.

Élie Autin (she/her)
joined the Manufacture HES-SO (Lausanne) in contemporary dance and creation. During her studies, different artistic encounters took place. David Zambrano invited her to present a dance solo at the opening of the Tic Tac Art Center in Brussels. As a model and photo model, Élie has worked with Timon Imveldt, Daniel Bolliger, Mikael Vilchez, the Agapornis brand, Dior and Dazed as well as other photographers and fashion designers. These different experiences in dance and modelling, allow her to evolve in different environments while  remaining in practices that are close to the body.

Directly after obtaining her diploma, Élie worked on various artistic creations and productions (theatre,  dance, performance) as a performer, but also as creator and co-creator of certain pieces. Having worked with Tamara Alegre, Natasza Gerlach, Caner Teker, Juliette Uzor, Nagi Gianni, Alexandre Doublet and others, Élie is now starting to develop her own artistic work.

Margarida Alfeirão (she/her)
(Lisbon,1994) uses media to carve safe-spaces for the exploration of intimacy and sexuality through  dance and performance. Heavily influenced by dance-genres and sound textures from the african diaspora  disseminated through Lisbon’s social tissue, she attempts an active claim of womanhood, crossing the  exercise of sensuality in public and private space. Graduated from HZT’s BA in dance and choreography in  Berlin (2017-2021), she is seeking to combine social dancing settings with her artistic work, together with  her dance collective AMIGAS, they look to start a dance-space to host formats for interdisciplinary art, in  Berlin.

Sel (he/him)
is French by birth, Algerian by origin. He arrived in Switzerland (Geneva) in 2017. Passionate about music and Rap and thanks to encounters upon his arrival he had the opportunity to  perform within the local scene (Théâtre de l’Usine, L’Ecurie, Festival Interlove…). Later on, he was able to  follow certain projects / performances from friends and colleagues such as VITAL 2019 at TU, Festival  Rature 2019 at Galpon. These experiences led him to start a performance technician education at La  Manufacture, Lausanne in August 2019.

Allowing him to continue his artistic projects in parallel to the education. Today, his desires are to develop  his knowledge and experiences in light creation.

Lydia Östberg Diakité (they/them)
is a dancer, choreographer and union organizer who since 2013 is based in  Copenhagen. Ö. Diakité is inspired by and refers in their work to popular cultural phenomena, hyper performativity, contemporary criticism and tenderness. These themes and concepts are embodied in the  works FIEBRE 2018, co-signed with Tamara Alegre, Marie Ursin, Nunu Flashdem and Célia Lutangu,  EMBRACE 2020 created together with Adam Seid Tahir and Meleat Fredriksson and solo work CRY BABY  2020. Ö. Diakité works with a black feminist/intersectional feminist approach in artistic processes and practices decolonization of art production and sees a value in shaping new collective realities to change the  industry. Lately Ö.Diakité have been working as choreographic assistant for Tamara Alegre with the new  piece NOS FUIMOS that will premier 2022 and for Bambam Frost where they also performed in her latest  work YES 2021 and later this year Ö.Diakité are premiering a new work immortal summit together with  Bambam Frost.

Ö. Diakité laid the foundation for Dance Cooperative and runs it together with 15 artists in Copenhagen.  Since 2019, Ö. Diakité is on the board of The Union, a workers union that works towards the elimination of  racism on the culture and art scene in Denmark.
